011 // How to Navigate MBA with Family // Kazrin Khairul Anuar - MIT Sloan 2021

Taking an MBA program in the US is a big, huge decision. And if you already have a family, it becomes 100 times more difficult. Today’s topic is about MBA and Family. Many international students had to decide whether they came to the US with family or not

Meet Kazrin Khairul AnuarOriginally from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Kazrin is a second-year MBA student at MIT Sloan. As a husband and a father of a 2-year old boy, he spent 7 years working in financial services (primarily within equity investments) in Malaysia before coming to MBA. Pivoting into a corporate strategy role in the long term, Kazrin thought having MBA experience would help get to know different companies and industries from classes and classmates. Also, the MIT community with business, engineering, and tech development perspectives was one of the biggest reasons he came to Sloan.  In this episode we talk about:
  1. Americans’ School Spirit - Why do Americans love their school a lot?
  2. How his family decided their “family plan” with MBA
  3. What challenges his family faced
  4. How to check each MBA program before coming to the US
  5. Advice for future MBA students
